Domestic plumbing & heating is now probably one of the fastest changing areas of the construction industry. With the new Building Regulations ‘M’, ‘L’, ‘G’, ‘H’ etc coming in to force over the next few years, it is important that all companies are aware of legislation. Having a well-trained workforce with robust training policies is important to ensure their staff have the understanding and qualifications required to carry out the work both to comply with legislation and in a correct and efficient manner.

Plumbing problems we sort in Hinckley & Leicester
Our WaterSafe plumbers cover Hinckley, Burbage, Earl Shilton, Barwell, Leicester, Nuneaton, Bedworth, Coventry, Rugby, Tamworth, Lutterworth and Market Bosworth. A two-minute check is often enough to tell you what it is — leaving it is how a small fault soaks a ceiling or lands on a Severn Trent bill.
- Toilet running constantly — usually a worn dual-flush seal, high float or fill valve. Can waste 200–400 litres a day and hundreds of pounds a year. Call us if it is a concealed cistern or the ceiling below is staining.
- Dripping tap — washer on older taps, cartridge on mixers. A drip a second is about 30 litres a day. Replace the tap if the body weeps or parts are obsolete. Don’t ignore a drip under the sink — that is a cupboard and floor, not just a tap.
- Low pressure in one tap — nozzle, isolator or cartridge, not the water main, if the rest of the house is fine. A sudden drop plus a ticking meter can be a leak in the floor: that needs tracing now.
- Blocked sink — plunger and a clean U-bend first. Chemicals in a fully stopped sink wreck seals and turn a trap job into a ripped-out waste. If several fittings are slow, stop pouring and ring us.
- Gurgling or smelly drains — air or gas getting past the water seal. One trap you can clean; several rooms, or smell after every trap has water in it, is an early warning of a backup or a leaking pan connector.
- Banging pipes — water hammer when a machine or tap slams shut. Not harmless if it has gone on for years: fittings loosen and the leak shows later. Don’t leave the stopcock half shut as a “fix”.
- Damp patch on the wall — condensation, rain, or a plumbing leak. If it sits under a bathroom or the meter still turns with the taps off, get us to rule a leak in or out before anyone sells you a damp course.
If you cannot isolate the water, more than one fitting is affected, or there is staining, smell or a scalding shower, call 01455 632 030. We’ll visit, tell you what’s needed, and give a free, no-obligation quote.
